The movie was so much better than the book
I VERY rarely say this about a movie, but the movie was good and the book sucked. I liked the movie and since I'm a person who loves to read, I made the mistake of actually buying the book. I'm shocked it became a movie. It's that bad. Elle in the book never had to study, really was an airhead without the layers that Reese/screenwriting gave to the character, and was no one that anyone would cheer for. Movie Elle had to buckle down, study, and learn her way around it all. Movie Elle was always smart, but never had a chance to let it shine in a typical way. Book Elle was an airhead through and through. So much was changed in the translation that the book only offered minuscule inspiration. This is my PSA to not buy the book but enjoy the movie and the cast. 😄 As I said, I rarely feel the movie is better than the book, but this and "The Devil Wears Prada" (don't think that book had an editor--lol) qualify. In TDWP I kept wanting Miranda to give Andi the smackdown.
