Vivian Kensington

When I watched the movie for the first time I liked that Vivian and Elle became best friends at the end, but this last viewing I was so against it. I know it represents Elle being accepted and Warner not but it doesn't feel right anymore.

Also, I don't really like how Vivian forgives Elle for thinking Elle was having an affair with Callahan. Emmett says one thing and Vivian is quick to agree. I know Vivian was warming up to Elle before she saw Elle and Callahan together, but it just doesn't go with her character. She took 2 steps forward in being friends with Elle but the situation sent her 3 steps back rather than just 1, imo.

Well, Vivian finally did the right thing by breaking off her engagement to Warner, didn't she?

Since the end was supposed to take place two years later when the graduated it's totally believable.

All Vivian saw was the Prof stroke Elle's leg and she immediately left. She didn't see where Elle pushed his hand off and got defensive with him. When Emmett explained what happened, she realized that was mistaken in what she saw. It makes sense because when she first meets Elle, Elle is not serious and it's clear she is trying to get Warner back. She was impressed when Elle finally started becoming serious and showing that she actually had a brain. Seeing Elle with Callahan made Vivian pause and think that maybe sleeping with him was how Elle was getting by. It was easy to for her to revert back to judging Elle on her appearance. I don't think it was so much forgiving Elle as once again giving her the benefit of the doubt.
