What happened to them, is happening to me now... and it's devastating...

gosh.... with only a few differences put aside, the same plot of this film is happening to me right now...

About a couple of months ago I met this girl... and get this... she's a lawyer!

we randomly met and at first I didn't make much of her and I think she didn't make much of me, (exactly like in the movie).

a week went by, nothing happened (just like in the movie), then the following week we kind of... well... something happened... (like in the movie). no sex or anything, just... something happened.

then the following week we kind of felt like really into each other, with no reason or explanation whatsoever.

then I guess we fell in love and then, next thing you know, she got offered a position to move her practice to another country.

she leaves in ten days from today.

This is devastating. I really can't believe this is happening to me.

I'm only just reading this comment...from 4 years ago - I want to know what happened next. Did you go after her? Or have you both moved on?

Well, when I was reading the beginning parts of your story...I already knew I was going to suggest....DO NOT SERIOUSLY DATE A LAWYER. You can have a little fun but when it gets down to long term girlfriend....wife, do not pick someone who has such a time consuming, hectic, work all hours, traveling for work, has to move type of girl.

That is not the type of career that you can have a regular relationship with.

You've learned the hard way....now never do it again.
