James Van Der Beek

I don't know if anyone already asked this question, but what part did James Van Der Beek have in this movie.

reply

There was a scene cut out where Vander Beek was on the receiving end (No pun intended) of anal sex. To avoid NC-17 Solondz removed it.

reply

really? well thanks appreciate it.

reply

When asked for a comment, Van Der Beek said, 'They were filming that?'

Do you want me to get naked and start the revolution?

reply

Interestingly, in the episode "After Hours" of Dawson's creek, when his character is asked "Have you ever seen Storytelling?" his response is "I have no interest in it." Guess we know why.

reply

Curious. Who was the perpetrator? And where in the film did this happen?

reply

it was called autobiography and it involved a lot of fudge packing.

reply

has anyone seen the missing story line? or perhaps a director's cut dvd?

Is there a DVD with the full director's cut? Would love to see the full original version, with Van Der Beek's performance. Any ideas?

reply

Yeah, I would also like to see James Van Der Beek's deleted storyline. Anyone have any info. about this?

reply

There's another topic somewhere around here summing up Van Der Beek's storyline.

From what I understand, his character goes to Selma Blair's school. His storyline is called 'Autobiography'? He's not on the receiving end of homosexual sex at all, but the giver. He gets up, and the guy he's just had sex with says "Call me". This is all I remember.

This was only shown at a few original screenings of the film, at different festivals. It was cut, and never released, and most likely never will be. Shame.

Apparently, Todd's denied it ever existed, which further lowers the chances that it will ever be released. If people claim to have seen it, but Todd denies it altogether, chances are he won't let it get out to the general public.
