Horrid, horrid song....

If the opening song, Cosmic Dancer, had gone on another 30 seconds I fear I would have clawed my ears off! That has to be the worst song I have ever heard, sung by the worst singer who ever sang. And the lyrics sound as though they were written by a first grader. Hideous!!

reply

Your exaggerating, you have never heard of the'birdie song' ?? That has to be the worst 'song' of ALL time.

reply

I had to go to youtube to check out the "Birdie Song" . I wasn't sure what that was. Turns out I have heard it many times & actually like it, but I think that's only because it's the music for that silly "Chicken Dance" that's often done at weddings - that is a hoot, imho & hearing it brought back happy memories of good times at wedding dances.

reply

You're not a T-Rex fan, I take it.

Why is it whenever I'm having fun, it's wrong?

reply

LOL...well, I guess not, Hedley - based on what I heard - they're all like that?

BTW - I love your screen name - very clever!

reply

They're not all like that. T-Rex also did Bang a Gong (Get It On) which is the song you hear when Billy is in the mobile library. And they did Ride a White Swan which is the song they play at the end when Billy is once again jumping on his bed.

reply

I'm so glad you mentioned that song, zehnjg.

I've always loved Bang A Gong, I didn't know that was a T.Rex hit! I'll have to check into more of their music, may find they've done other things I like.

reply

They also did Rip-Off - a great little guitar jagg.

reply

They also did Children of the Revolution, which was used in the movie too

reply

And they sang we love to boogie , that was in this film too. By the way, t rex were my mum's favourite band when she was a teenager lol. She still likes them now.

reply

And there is the wonderful 'I love to Boogie". To each his own, I say!

reply

It can't be the worst song ever because Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard exists.

reply

Yeah, that's not a great one - but I think Cosmic Dancer is worse.

reply

Shoot your ears. Now.

Your Ignorance of the Great Marc Bolan is marched only by your Stupidity and Lack of Taste. You really do show why immature people like you should not be let loose on a computer. oh well you cant cure stupid so i guess you will troll through the posts and whine

My only objection to the T-Rex soundtrack is the fact that they're using these songs in a movie set in 1984. What's wrong with the stuff from around then that Billy would have been definitely listening too? There's plenty of great (and even better) tracks that would suit the mood of the time of the miners' strike.

Well she turned me in to a newt!... I got better!

Like a Town called Malice?
Written two years prior but suited the mood of those time.

I just assumed he was listening to his older brother's records - even his father's. Billy was only 11 and wouldn't have had any records of his own.

It's not that bad, but it's certainly not good.

Many contemporary popular songs sound as though a four-year-old is making them up as he or she sings them. It's either that, or listen to rap. It's a sad musical age we live in.

reply

You have a shit taste in music.

And to the person who suggested contemporary 80s music, thank God they didn't do that..
