how does a pakistani (?) man have an uber-wasp ..

..daughter and a mexican son?

reply

a) Tony Shalhoub isn't Pakistani. He's of Lebanese ancestry.

b) Shannon Elizabeth's father is Syrian. Her full name is Shannon Elizabeth Fadal. Not quite an "uber-wasp."

c) Alec Roberts isn't Mexican.

I think the original post must have been the start of a joke.

So what's the punchline?

A Pakistani man would have an uber-WASP daughter and Mexican son in the following way:

[1] Marry an ultra-WASP for a wife; this way any children will be uber-WASPs or at least increase their WASPishness to the point where only minor plastic surgery is required.

[2] Have an affair with the Mexican nanny, who then gives birth to his Mexican-Pakistani bastard son.

[3] The ultra-WASP wife, distraught with Pakistani's affair, makes him promise that in the event of her death he will hire the ugliest nanny he can afford, with attitude to match. Hence Rah Digger.

I think I've covered all bases, n'est-ce pas?

I hope it's a joke.

Tony Shaloub looks as Pakistani as Brad Pitt looks Chinese.

Also, Shannon Elizabeth is a far cry from WASP, since she has olive skin and appears to be of mixed race. Her bio says she's half Lebanese, so she's actually a great match to play Tony's daughter!

Funny, also, that someone things someone can look "wasp." It denotes both a religion and a colour -- can you "look" protestant? Well, maybe, but Shannon sure doesn't fit the stereotype. I always assumed she was part latin american or Spanish.

Sorry, but you have seriously skewed racial judgement.

The bottom line, of course, is who cares.
