Tpol and Trip

It appears their romance had to follow every other hollywood TV series romance, keep it on the verge for a cliffhanger, to be dissolved later, claim the reason as "I am going to find myself." Funny, she experiences the effects of drugs and initiates sex, then she finds religion and breaks up with him, yeah, who didn't see that coming. If you think about it, 90% of hollywood can't hold down a long term relationship, so why would we expect the writers to be able to keep one going in a series.

I want to remeber that when Enterprise meets the Enterprise from 150 years into the future (Season 3)that T'Pol and Trip had children together. A few episodes earlier they mention that Vulcans and humans are biologically incompatible and cannot procreate. Then how did Spock's parents have him?

reply

Phlox discovers a way for Human and Vulcan genomes to combine successfully which opened the door for future Human-Vulcan couples like Amanda and Sarek to conceive.

Actually after finding her mother living with those "heretics" T'Pau who is quite skilled in mind melts and has according to her beliefs no issues with them ,mind melts with T'Pol curing her from Pa'nar syndrome which might explain her breaking up with Trip plus everything she experienced with Archer on Vulcan made her take a whole new look on the teachings of Surak.

Stupid writers can't allow room for relations, it's been repeated many times, in many different shows, makes no difference due to the decision in the last show.

They mostly want to "free" the characters so they can have occasional romances.

Personally I feel thats plenty stupid, too, but oh well.

Waitaminute! T'Pau 'cured' T'Pol's Pa'Nar syndrome?? ..somehow i missed that!
Thanks!

In 2154, T'Pol was cured by the Syrrannite leader T'Pau, who revealed the true nature of the disease. (ENT: "Kir'Shara")

The discovery of the Kir'Shara enabled others suffering from Pa'nar to come out and be cured. (ENT: "Daedalus")

It should be mind meld. Mind melting would be painful! Ouch!

yeah 4 years on......6 more unexplained......no reasons why they never get together.....basically all women in star trek are either unobtainable/married to their job/ cold as a fish / or highly volatile....basically they are all a tease for male audiences...one way or the other

if it was real life all women would all be doing a beeline for the captain/commander/doctor...etc

just like real life doctors/pilots/lawyers/politicians/ambassadors/businessmen...etc...

but no starship pilots not on star trek????????

the end was an insult...10 years with a vulcan cold fish in the same starship and nothing happens....

somebody shoot me ps

I think your comment has considerable insight into the celebrity mind set viz. Marriage in particular. I try hard to ignore the lives of the rich and ridiculous but it's hard to do when fan magazines ad weekly news rags line every supermarket check out stand. I want to feel sorry for female stars looking for love but when one considers who they select as the "One", it's very clear that their personal values on commitment and love are radically different than many ordinary folks. When I married there was no doubt in my mind that it was for life. There would be any out growing my partner or we just lost the zing. I take sworn promises and commitment serious and so did my wife. We were married 35 years when she died in an accident. Many so called celebrities marry to fit their image. It's hardly surprising that celebrity marriages are merely an exercise in serial monogamy. That this attitude is reflected in writing is an interesting observation. Don't know if it's accurate but it's still a fascinating observation. I believe far too many people give up on marriage much to easily simply because divorce is easier than that working through problems and too many men are affected by mid life crises and want a hot babe 10 to 15 years younger. It's easier for a middle aged man to marry than for a women of comparatively the same middle aged. I'm rather old fashion. My wife died but she'll be my wife until I die. I don't see myself marrying again. I know that's an unusual take and I'd never criticize others for thinking differently. The celebrity mindset on marriage and family is pathologically stupid and self destructive (for example Meg Ryan and Jen Anniston).
