A question about frieghters - are there other warp ships?

Enterprise introduced us to this idea that there are hundreds of warp capable freighters out there that are already exploring the galaxy. If this is the case, then what's so special about joining Starfleet or serving on Enterprise? But I'm wondering, are there other kinds of warp ships out there, such as military/government ships, science vessels, space tourism ships, etc? Are warp engines mass produced to such an extent that they're so common and affordable? If this is the case, does anyone privately own warp ships?

The freighters I think maxed out at warp 1.5 so they couldn't get from point A to point B quickly and supplies are limited so they can't just pick a direction and hope they'll find sources of food and other necessities. Starfleet had other ships seen at the end of season 2 and start of season 4 they appear a little smaller than the NX class.

I can't recall but when Archer talked about being in the NX program (First Flight) he said testing was on the verge of passing either warp 2 or warp 3, while the other Starfleet ships might be that fast I don't think freighters are.
