Why didn't the Future Federation simply stop the Xindi probe/bomb?

In Season 3 they made a big story arc about the Enterprise having to go to the Expanse and stop the Xindi from making a huge bomb to wipe out humanity and somehow the Future Police of the Federation know this and they can travel thru time so why didn't they simply go back to Earth of the past before the Xindi sent their first attack and stop it before they ever got to kill those 70 million humans?

I think there might be a paradox created if they did that because then there wouldn't have been any motivation for the Federation of the 22nd century to go to the Expanse and stop the Xindi from making their second larger weapon.

Maybe though if they went and made first contact with the Xindi BEFORE the agitators from the future arrived and convinced the Xindi were going to be wiped out by humanity in the future then the whole scenario could have been avoided?

Time travel stories can be a real pain. With as often as Star Trek travels thru time though it makes you wonder how anybody knows what the "true" timeline should be.

The writers were trying to think up something dramatic and cool and edgy and tense and filled with action. I guess making sense (let alone intellectual points) weren't a priority.

DS9 found itself desperately resorting to similar gimmicks, but the writing was less embarassing.

Yeah, it is a real pain. I try not to think too much when it comes to time travel shows or movies. It's never plausible and rarely makes sense.

Yes but even in Star Trek Beyond the Xindi war is mentioned.

The bad guy says he fought in the Xindi war.

Then he was part of Major Hayes's MACO's.The Xindi thing seems to be just a sideshow in TCW(Temporal Cold War) the Suliban and the Voth seem to be the bigger foe than the Xindi or the Sphere builders, plus the Shere builders have been very secretive about it.At was only after the attack that Daniels and his fraction became aware of the alteration in the time-line that had taken place.

I think it's just one of those things you can't think too much about. I like season three and the story, but there are some issues with the logic of it all.
