Aired: 4/21/2002 X-Files Season 9 Epp 15 This was an x-files epp. It is the conclusion to All about Yves. This episode was left open at the time because the show thought it was returning for season 2, when that didn't happen CC finished it up on the x-files.
When Morris Fletcher approaches agents Doggett and Reyes with information related to "Super Soldiers", they turn to the Lone Gunmen. The Gunmen, however, are knee-deep in a bio-terrorist's plot to release a deadly toxin into the population but the Gunmen find that they may have to make the ultimate sacrifice for their cause.

Dude, UFO is really bad...Really REally BAd. We might as well do space 1999. I don't know where we go. I still like Wonder Falls but not really sure. Maybe some of the people will chime in.
I'm still here. Actually, on vacation at the moment, but just got my son's cable modem and wireless router running, so naturally I had to check out the more important sites on the web....
Anyway, the path to reinvigorating, I think, would be to go mainstream and something available online. Accordingly, I'll nominate (in no particular order of preference) the first seasons of Sliders or Quantum Leap. Both are available on Hulu, and both are only nine eps in the first season, beginning with a two-hour pilot.
We might be able to round up some of the others. Laurmartin and I just exchanged a couple of posts over on The Time Tunnel board not long ago. Maybe we could drag her in.
I'm a fan of 9 eppisodes. I saw some quantum leap when it aired originally, wasn't to impressed as I recall, never saw sliders but with only nine episodes I can do either.
Despite the fact that I stopped watching "Lone Gunmen" - apparently after the midget wrestler episode - I did watch this when it was on "The X-Files." I wasn't a frequent fan of "The X-Files" at that point either, but ...
I need to watch this episode again - but to me, it will always be tainted by the ending. It always felt like the producers saying, "Hey, you canceled the show, so now we'll REALLY make you regret that!"
As for what to do next, I didn't realize we could watch just first seasons of longer shows. "Sliders" or "Quantum Leap" would be fine - I saw both when they were on but could always re-watch them.
Finally watched this again. As I said, the ending taints the whole thing for me. "You didn't like 'The Lone Gunmen'? Well, we're going to kill them off - that'll show you!"
Also ... as a follow-up to "All About Yves," it's pretty disjointed. How did she and the boys get away from Fletcher? Why did they have to "find" Yves - and spend all their money doing so? Why was Jimmy following her around the planet?
I do wonder if this was the character background they always had in mind for Yves or whether they just made it up for this episode. They sort of gloss over it very quickly, in any case.
And what a leap they made to pin down that the prof's colleague was the one with the shark poison in him. What was their motive in killing all those people? There did not seem to be one.
Langley's never-give-up speech about Joey Ramone was a nice moment, but seemed a bit forced when they boys died and it tied back to them. I did love the shot of the Cap'n Toby issue, though.
I really got the feeling there were too many characters in here for anyone to get adequate treatment. The three Gunmen, Jimmy, Yves, Fletcher, Doggett, Reyes, Kimmy the Geek, the professors, the other guy that they suspected. Way crowded.
The boys' decision to sacrifice themselves seemed abrupt and unsatisfying. Also, would the fire doors REALLY cut off that section of the building in a 100% air-tight way? Unlikely.
Not satisfied with this one, really. Might have been better just to leave well enough alone when "The Lone Gunmen" was canceled. Thoughts?
I agree with everything you said about this episode. I don't understand why they ran the 2 parter the way they did. Why wouldn't they run All about yves as the season finally? I also agree they should have just left them alone, I was not a fan of seeing them killed off and the way they were killed off was a little silly, I still don't see why all three had to stay in there when the door closed. And there is no way that place was air tight.
At first I didn’t really like the series but it had a way of growing on me. About half way through the series it started to make sense to me. I went into it thinking it was going to be somewhat serious similar to the X-Files. This is probably why I didn’t like it at first.
Loved seeing the plans for the Jupiter 2 don’t believe for a moment he could have passed them off as authentic. Just a little Lone Gun Men humor. Yves would have made a great super soldier she’s tough to cut open someone’s chest and remove the bio- weapon wow. So our boys made the ultimate sacrifice to seal themselves in and die with the terrorist. Hope that never really happens in real life no way to stop an attack like that especially now that our boys are gone forever.
Well Well Well, We have to come to the end, literally. I have to say the ending made me sad but the entire show concluded with what i would consider no complete clunkers. I have a couple of things on this one though. You can kind of tell that really couldn't pick up where they left off on the first part from the gunmen show. It almost felt like it was thrown together as a complete ending to the series. So Yve's dad was only trying to find her that was interesting unfortunately he was terrorist. The other thing I was wondering was why did all the gunmen have to die. Couldn't Frohicki have let the other two take a couple steps backwards and then hit the button? Also, there was no ventilation in that place? It was an air tight seal? Those are good fire doors indeed. I liked seeing Scully, I always thought she was so hot. One last time I will state this show was canceled before it's time and for the first time since we have been watching these one year shows I can honestly say I don't get it. Oh well thats how the cookie crumbles. All in all an acceptable ending to the series I give it a an 8 on the TLG scale.
