Was the 'mafia guy' gay?

I was just wondering at the end of the movie it shows him laying in bed next to a guy, which could have been his brother but I wasn't sure. There was a scene in the earlier part of the movie when we are first introduced to his character. The whole scene was very awkwardly shot, it had 2 preteens and a few mid-teen boy; one was his brother and the rest looked like they were there for getting money from stolen goods. The youngest preteen boy with the braces during the whole scene was staring at him (sorry to put it this way) seductively but doesn't say anything; during the whole scene the braces boy gives him that continual look. There was barely any dialog during this scene, besides from the call. After the call, a boy who rode up on a bike starts looking at him a very similar way and mafia guy gives him a look back. I brushed off this scene as maybe just having bad actors for the scene, but at the end of the movie I saw him laying next to another shirtless boy (maybe brother). The movie is obviously highly sexual so the question naturally came to my mind, was the 'mafia guy' gay?

Maybe someone read the book and knows the answer. If you dont, just give me your opinion.
