Lisa should have initially gotten the death chair

Why did Marty get the death penalty when Lisa was the ringleader? No one else got that harsh of a sentence, yet Marty and Ali got it the worst. Marty was cruel, but the death chair was harsh. Also, I didn't like the ending. They tried to make it a happy ending, but I hope they know none of those sentences went through. There was no justice and everyone other than the gangster are out of jail living the life. So why did they tell us the sentences as if it was set and stone?

Just because she didn't physically kill Bobby doesn't mean she isn't just as responsible as Marty. Had she not come up with this idea and plan to kill Bobby, he would still be alive today. She was the ring leader and lead everyone into believing that he ha to die. Her influence and her part in the murder, makes her just as responsible as Marty or Donny. There is no other way around it. I don't think she should have gotten the death chair but, life imprisonment would have been the right choice. Think about it. She gets to walk around free, while Bobby never got the chance, while Marty and the other two guys have to spend the life of their lives in prison. And they are there because of her.

She should have gotten life in prison without parole at the very least. I can't believe she was let out. She was one of the main masterminds behind the whole thing, and, if as depicted in the movie, she was completely unremorseful and emotionless about everything that she orchestrated, down to the actual savagery of the crime itself.

I REALLY feel bad for her child, though; can you imagine being born to a mother who was responsible for murdering your father? I don't know how you can reconcile something like that, even though the child never met her dad.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Lisa was the most culpable--but reverse sexism I feel let her off the hook--not the boys so much.

She was preggers though and had a baby

Even when the others tried to see reality and back off, she kept pushing the issue, telling them "he's the source of everyone's problems", she was the one really campaigning for his death.

The execution was cancelled, Marty is serving a life sentence currently.

yeah I dont understand the OP, where do they get their information from? you think all these kids are out of prison?, I mean in my eyes they should all have gotten life no matter how small of the role they played.

but here's how it is:
Martin Puccio,Donald Semenec,Derek Kaufman the only three that actually played a role in delivering deadly blows to bobby are all serving LIFE in prison, yeah I guess they will get a shot at parole but chances of them getting it are slim.

Here are the ones that are out
Alice Willis
Lisa Connelly
Derek Dzvirko
Heather Swallers

all of them should still be in there for life, lisa's defense is that they were just "joking" when they were talking about killing bobby, and that they really just wanted to beat him up, get for real anyone with common sense knows they all were aware of the plot to kill bobby yet not a single person done a thing to stop it, not to mention a few of them had a discussion with the "hitman" one day before they kill bobby kent, you mean to tell me during this elapsed time u couldn't get away from this group and report the crime? so now 4 out of the 7 get a chance that bobby kent doesn't, live life to the fullest.

The big problem I have with the case is that there is ZERO evidence of Bobby Kent ever bullying them.

Why would anyone believe that ragtag group? I think all of them were druggies. Who knows what those drugs might have did to their cognitive ability.

hes a rapist

Rapes are very hard to prove.

reply

this is from another post reply I made but you seem to think there's zero proof of evidence.

I know this a over due reply but it still seems relevant since I didn't see a clear cut answer,

in my eyes I always pictured bobby kent just as a cocky *beep* with just a slight touch of bully, I didn't think he deserved to die and I also feel like any party involved should have gotten life, with that said I sort of agree with you there's no evidence of him being a bully, but you dead wrong about the only evidence of him being a bully was his murderers,

I realize these statements came from marty's parents but this is facts when they said they were a little weary of bobby and marty's friendship because how often marty would come home with a bruise or bleeding, even though these are statements after his death it's not common for a guys parents to lie for him after hes committed such a heinous crime.

most bully incidents go unreported (specially that era) because in the real world it's hard to prove you're getting bullied, and also if the bullying takes place on the bullys property you would be wasting your time to report it.

so that could be another reason why there's no "evidence" of being him a bully

reply

so true & so couldnt agree more

I thought the same thing , it was her idea and she was intent on seeing that guy dead, shes just as guilty

he raped her friend
