I can't believe nobody else thought this movie was incredibly boring?!
No, no, I'm not a "troll".
I give the film props for the simple fact that the writers totally nailed the characters. They were clearly trying to go for 'realistic', and with that they succeeded. But I feel that so many scenes in this movie were redundant and it just dragged on, and on, and on.
But ultimately, each and every one of these characters, minus the homicidal tendencies, are exactly like many of the kids I attended high school with. The way they carried themselves, their actions, and especially the way they all spoke is so dead on, (and I just graduated in 2013). I hated those kids, and sitting through a two hour film, listening to these actors whine and make themselves sound as intellectually impoverished as humanly possible was borderline torture.
If you're wondering why I subjected myself to such torture, it's because I study criminology and sociology and had a huge interest in the case, prior to watching the film.
But my question is, does the book contain as much mindless drivel as the film? In other words, will it make me want to bang my head against a wall every time someone opens their mouth? Or is it worth reading?
