most of them look like hell.

Willis I would say is by far the best...

Kaufman just now looks like the actual badasse he was obviously trying to be back then..kind of guy a new guy first offender in the joint is hoping he does not get a cell with.

reply

Wow, I cant believe they let Lisa and Alice go I mean Alice and Marty came up with the plan and Alice lured him to the water....anyway, yeah Donny looks like he's cried 1000 tears...or continued to get high in prison...Still, I can see why they picked Michael Pitt to play him (even though I think he's a hottie)...I try not to judge but what a waste of space these people are..and "poor" Bobby wasn't much better but he had a horrible death, poor guy...

See, he was not ANY better, he was worse than them and as bad as Puccio became was directly under his sicko *beep* influence...the #1 problem in this movie is that it does almost nothing to fill out what a POS "Bobby Kent" (not his real *beep* name even) was..there is only one possible vague way that he was remotely 'better' then most of them...he was in school , doing ok though not brilliantly, and had some prospects, community college, mostly helped by his father who was determined to help the ahole succeed...and ironically, quietly determined to get him out of Puccio's loser dead-beat circle...

to feel that guy, you need to totally read Schutze's book...which, do yourself a favor, it is a *beep* blast book, especially if you have any linkage to South Florida,Fort Lauderdale, even as a tourist, as I do..

Maybe, you see the movie, you are like, "oh, poor Bobby , that bunch of sick-*beep* druggy aholes doing him, just like that"

Meanwhile, you read the book first, you are like
"Stupid *beep* sure, that guy HAD to go,that guy had to be gotten out of everybody's face and preferably cleansed from the earth altogether, but, really, these tweaking loser morons doing it THAT stupidly and two carloads of them got locked up just to rid us of that garbage bag...there HAD to be smarter ways to solve their problem, and humanity's problem, than THAT!"

I arrested both Marty and Bobby for Loitering and Prowling late one night in the parking lot of an adult retirement community, about 6 months before Bobby was killed. On their possession was device used to quickly bust out car windows and they gave a BS reason for being there. I've seen the movie and read the book but one thing I always remembered was this big "bully" Bobby Kent, bawling his eyes out in the back seat of my cruiser. Still have Marty's drivers license. I had forgotten to given it back and later discovered it in my locker but by that time, he had been arrested for murder. I used it as a marker for that book!

reply

Wow that's a great story. Thanks for sharing. I think these kids were just so messed up and obviously the drugs didn't help.

I look at my red hands and my mean face, and I wonder about that man that's gone so wrong.

reply

I'm pretty sure that episode is mentioned in Schutze's book..

totally cool about the license...that's an artifact, lol.

Even the book and maybe even movie gives insight into what a bitch he was everytime anybody stood up to him...going back to their surfer days, one or two guys did not like seeing him leaning on Puccio and called him out..he never took them up, or are no reports of such, and, even , rarely, now and then, Puccio himself would retaliate directly when Kent hit him...when he did, Kent would de-escalate..he would never try to re-iterate his domination of Puccio in a looming head-on collision...he would back off, and then re-assert after Puccio cooled off.

you are a Broward guy, obviously, nice to meet you...I regard it as my spiritual home in America...especially Motel 6 Dania, lol..

reply

reading the book, now I think about it, he bullied Marty, but the rest of his victims were females.
see. Marty was full of *beep* the surfer guys did defend him, so Marty talking like he had nowhere to turn, blah, blah, blah, is total bull *beep* & as I mentioned before he was sent to new York & brought his ass right back to Florida a few months later, so please.

what about the poor slob retarded man they both roughed up when he was carrying his pathetic bags of groceries home from Publix?? that almost made me cry, and I wanted 5 mins with that POS Bobby myself.
THAt more than any other single episode sealed Bobby as a POS that actually did need to die, imo..

And what about the gay man they exploited to do the sickfuqq solo porn film, and exploited in other ways as well..?

This ccksucking MFer would have inflicted ANY atrocity on ANYBODY either gender , that he thought he could get away with, imo...in fact, weak males were more likely candidates.

reply

You have some point that Puccio wailing that he had no way to be free of the POS, WAS a little lame...but he was , apart from bursts of retaliatory aggression, a weak male too...led like a sheep to do things that might not have really been part of his own nature...

What might have been an interesting alternate ending we never got to see, is what if Puccio DID just blow Kent off...other case histories where this happened might be an interesting comparison on that point.

reply

What's funny is that in dealing with both that night, I had the feeling that it was Marty and not Bobby that was the calling the shots but the book and movie made it sound like Marty was a servant and couldn't break free.

reply

I get what you mean, but you can get couples like that..

the fact that "Kent" was an immigrant could also have come in there..
