It’s pretty obvious they will eventually do a Harry Potter reboot with the original cast since most other franchises of the same caliber have had continuations years after the original series ended. When do you think Harry Potter will have a reboot with Daniel Radcliffe et al?
shareIts not obvious at all. Other franchises mean nothing. This is its own franchise. And it would all depend on if the actors wanted to come back. Daniel Radcliffe has been asked before if he'd return, and what he basically says is, "Probably not, but I guess never say never".
Its possible they'd return, but not one of the main trio has openly expressed legit interest in it.
There's a possibility that they may do "Cursed Child" with the original cast all grown up, perhaps as a Disney+ streaming series. The play is a whole day long and includes a dinner break, and as such is too long for anything but a series of franchise films, and I suspect the economics of franchise filmmaking are going to undergo a re-evaluation over the next couple of years. IF the original cast agrees, and IF the "Fantastic Beast" franchise doesn't turn out to be the monumental disaster I think it will.
IMHO it's far more likely that they'll just start a Harry Potter TV/streaming show in another 5-10 years, with a brand new child cast... that will work cheaper than the old crew.
