THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!

Just saw Chocolat, absolutely loved it but does anyone know what kind of cake it was when Juliettee Binoche was taking to Josephine in the store when Josephine tried to pay her for the chocolates and said she wasnt a thief? The cake looked like a chocolate sponge cake and it was dusted with something that looked reddish. Someone please tell me I am dying to make a cake like the one in the movie!!

(By the way I know this post sounds extremely insane but I am absolutely in love with that cake!)

Are you sure it wasn't chilli powder. Vianne was rather fond of adding chillies to chocolate in the movie (not in the book).
You can get chocolate cookies in Australia with a touch of chilli, so it's not really as far fetched as it sounds.
