Facebook

What's ironic about watching this movie is the fact that, just a few years after it was created, Facebook became widely popular and it would have been possible to search for and contact anyone only knowing their first and last name.

Had this movie been set today, for instance, the two probably would have added each other as "friends" right away and then could easily message one another seven years later.

Anyone else think about this when they watch the movie?

I enjoy the original concept much better. It's more romantic. If FB were involved, they would probably spend more time cyber-cheating or whatever you would call it. There really isn't anything romantic about that. I know there are alot of people that use social media to find that special someone or that high school sweetheart and what not. But, I think the movie the way it is.

I agree but just find it interesting. Today the story probably wouldn't happen the way it did in the movie.

You obviously did not pay attention to the movie. The whole idea of the movie was testing fate. Not only did he not know her last name to do a search by name on Facebook, she did not want to give him any information so they certainly would not have "friended" each other.

ha I don't know...I've been told I'm a pretty impressive Facebook stalker. Knowing just a first name and maybe the school he/she went to or the city the person currently lives in (or did live in), you'd be surprised how easy it can be to find someone.

It's possible, but like I said in another post, Sara probably wouldn't have had a FB and even if she did, he would have to search through thousands of people to find her. And even then, her name could not be "Sara Thomas" on the site. *shrugs*

While social media does make things easier. Everyone isn't connected.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"
