Anyone else feel sorry for....

I really like this film but I do feel sorry for the fiancé. They portrayed her as nothing but sweet and loving toward his character and when she is feeling hurt right after the rehearsal expressing her concern over him having "cold feet" and then him cancelling right before the wedding. I did feel bad for her. If they had made her more unlikeable I wouldn't feel bad for her. I was rooting for the two to get together but I feel bad for his fiancé because she apparently loved him.

great point. I've never felt bad for her, but I guess it's because I was rooting for Sara and Jonathan throughout the entire film. But she was very likable, but I don't think she had much chemistry with him (not the actors, the characters). For example, she notices that he doesn't have a copy of the book even though he looks for it in every book store they go into, but she's never asked "why?"

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

That's why the breakup scene wasn't put in the film. Showing Cusack breaking up with her would have reduced audience empathy for him.

I also have to agree. They should have made her character less likable. I felt bad for her and him dumping her just before the wedding made John Cusack's character less likable.

Well, at least he didn't cheat on her or was an *beep* to her. He just plain didn't love her enough.
