Why did they pick Andy Garcia's casino?
I missed the 1st 30 minutes of the movie. Is there a reason why they targeted his casino?
You kind of missed the entire point of the movie.
But basically Benedict (Andy Garcia) is dating Danny's (George Clooney) wife, Tess (Julia Roberts). So Danny decides to go after him and the robbery, for him, is really about making Tess see the truth about what kind of man Benedict is.
I figured that part out from the conversation with Brad Pitt, after he saw her in the casino.
I just thought there may have been a greater motive to it. There was no real reason to root against the casino owner, how there was in part 3.

There was another reason.
When Danny and Rusty decide they need money, they go to the home of Reuben Tishkoff. He declines until he asks, as a throw-away, who's casino they are robbing. When Danny/Rusty tell him, he asks "What do you have against Terry Bennidict?" When they ask him the same, he replies that Terry muscled him out of a Casino years ago, so he's out for revenge as well.
Because he was knocking it out of the park with TESS and Reuben would gladly finance the job since Benedict muscled him out of his own casino years ago

Actually....there is more to it than just the Tess angle....3 of the biggest casinos on the strip all sharing one vault.....with a major heavyweight championshio fight means that it would also have the most MONEY!
While Tess is the motive everyone first thinks of....Terry Benedict's triple vault is the best target in LV....even if Tess didn't exist!
Yeah, hitting 3 casinos was the goal and the fact that the 3 casinos were owned by the guy that his ex was seeing was just icing on the cake.
shareThat isn't a reason why a chose Terry's casinos, that's just how they got Reuben to commit. Their reasons were to get Tess back (for Danny, anyway) and because that vault housed 3 different casinos, meaning a lot more money.
