Probably discussed before, but I can't find it.
Why is his role as Russian arm dealer at all? They could just place explosives with Yan in the first place. OK, I guess maybe Yan was afraid to travel with explosives?

But what about heart attack? He could just leave the room and disappear.

Saul needed to be in the room faking a heart attack to distract the security guys from watching the monitors so Livingston could switch to the fake feeds.
