Did Soderbergh Steal From 'The Right Stuff'?

I love "Ocean's 11", but I've always wondered if Steven Soderbergh stole the idea for the Bellagio fountain/Claire de Lune scene from "The Right Stuff".

Both movies have scenes near the end where a group of men exchange knowing looks with each other while The Claire de Lune swells in the background.

Both scenes are beautifully done, but Philip Kaufmann did it first.

I thought that too. Far more moving in The Right Stuff.

Are you thinking of "the white stuff "?

Check the trivia section for the film on this site.

That would make 3 Christmas' I've saved, vs. 8 that I've ruined; two were kind of a draw..
