Female Remake

I will not watch. Not a shot. I know there are a lot of people like me as well. Let's hope they decide to cut ties on this awful, idiotic, idea and come up with something original.

I know. These all-female remakes are getting on my nerves. Are feminists so offput by strong men that they have to remake and replace strong male characters with women now, to "promote female strength"? Is that honestly what it's come to?

reply

These all-girl remakes are starting to feel so cheap and redundant, they should be going straight to video.

reply

I know right! If they want strong female character then make a friggin original movie with strong female character instead of ripping off Classic movies!

reply

I'd watch it if they link Julia Roberts' character Tess from Ocean's Eleven into the movie. Have Tess be the 'Danny Ocean'of the film.

This is why the super heroes are taking all the money, reboots and remakes omg

Oh, you guys. Why all the hate? Did you protest when the 2001 Ocean's Eleven remake was announced, because they didn't 'come up with something original'?
No one even seems to notice when the main cast is all male. Yet when it's all female, you scream 'feminists!' like it's an insult.

Are you so put off by strong women that you have to belittle and mock every film with strong female characters to keep up the image of 'male strength'?

What's wrong with changing gender in a remake and see what it does to the story? I think it's an interesting concept.

The original was made in 1960, most people did not watch the original when the remake came out, so it was a fresh experience for them. The new "Ocean's 11" sounds more like a sequel than a reboot. However, if it is a reboot, then it deserves all the criticism, especially when there is a political agenda to it.

reply

I see both arguments. I think remaking just so it 'can be female' is a little bit like trying too hard to prove a point BUT like you say, but still shouldn't be condemned. But if they did a male version remake of sex in the city then surely the girls would complain?!

reply

Oh HELL no. Just like Ghostbusters! F(ck that!

It will likely flop, films as a whole are not doing well here in the west and this SJW angle is doing even worse (see Ghostbusters flop). Interestingly, eastern made films from China that are male centered are becoming more popular worldwide. Hollywood will pay dearly for their agendas, literally.
