IMHO people are way too critical of Ed Burns. They critize his writing, his directing, and his acting. C'mon people he's young!! Give him time!! How many 36 yr. olds have written, directed and starred in film?? He is gaining experience. Most directors take awhile to achieve success. (Coen bros. are an exception to the rule) but then again do most directors act as well as write ??

I agree! I love Ed Burns ... his films (so far) won't go down as the greatest in history but I love them anyway ... and the way he went about funding, writing and filming "The Brothers McMullen" inspired me to get into film. So thanks, Eddie!

Ed Burns is also my favorite after watching him steal the show in Saving Private Ryan I've loved him i own almost all his movies, and by far he is my favorite actor

I am a fan. I am a young filmmaker myself, and kind of look up to him. I think Sidewalks of New York is his best movie.

It might have taken awhile for the Coen bros to have a hit, but they made a lot of really good movies before it happened. I guess it depends on how you define success.

Ed Burns is definately a good writer, director, actor. I myself am trying to follow in those footsteps and his success has made me feel less nervous about the whole endevour. So yeah, lets try not to rag on a cat who is making it in the film industry no matter how big or popular he is overall.

I like Ed Burns, I don't love Ed Burns. Even you fans, don't you kind of feel like he's a poor man's Woody Allen?

i LOVE edward burns. he is doing for the NY irish what woody allen did for NY jews. he is sooo talented. and not to mention extremely good looking. his voice is also to die for. i can't wait to see more of him in years to come.

If you understood that Edward Burns is TODAY's Woody Allen , then you might be able to love him. I mean, love his work.

He only does movies like a sound of thunder and that angelina jolie movie and 15 minutes because they enable him to make his own movies. So while we are subjected to his acting however marginal in someone elses movies we should thank him for taking these parts so that he can make his movies his way.
