Can't watch any Burns movie

His voice is just too awful. Its unbearable to listen to. So no Burns movies for me.

I know it's a long time, and this is the first post after the original, so maybe noone will ever read this, but I am watching Sidewalks right now and felt I wanted to post something that's bothered me for a while, and didn't want to start a post. It could come off troll-y, and that's not my intention:

I agree with you, eriklf, about his voice, but it's worse than that for me; he's got an affectation where, in EVERY SENTENCE HE SPEAKS, he says "y'know" after every point he makes. It's obvious he's a godawful actor, and he's reaching...for something to make what he's saying sound interesting. I actually like his movies. I thought Brothers McMullen had something to say. She's The One was entertaining but it seemed like everyone in that was affected, maybe because Jennifer Aniston, the female Ed Burns (in that she, also, has a tendency to say "y'know" a lot. Not as much as Burns, maybe, but she makes up for it with "Sweetie". As in "I don't know, Sweetie...y'know?") was in it. And if I remember correctly, Ed Burns put a lot of "y'knows" in the mouth of Maxine Bahns in She's The One as well...and she doesn't need any help in the bad-acting department.

I don't want go go on and on complaining. He's a good looking guy, and chicks love him, I'm sure. He wrote a good movie or two (or, at least, 1 good movie, and a couple entertaining ones). He continues to have a career because people hire him to act (as opposed to write), which is mind-boggling to me. More power to him. This was just a pet peeve of mine; I felt like I wanted to get that off my chest while Sidewalks was on in the background...

"How do you feel?"
"Like the Kling-Klang King of the Rim-Ram Room!"
