I am surprised the two of them never met.
shareWhy? Rory dated Jess when she pretty much didn't have contact with her father. A thing that is more weird is why her best friend never met her grandfather, a very important person in her life. They technically only met once, during the Bracebridge Dinner. But a lot of those connections were treated as if they never happened: elder Gilmores-Taylor, Luke-Paris (running gag).
