Luke was INSUFFERABLE in Season 6

I know he always was a grumpy dude but in Season 6 he went full into' old guy yelling at the youth for making too much noise while holding a cane' mode. Seemed like he was yelling at everyone. I was thinking ' Run Lorelai run!'during the Martha Vineyard episode.

Good God. He was such a nag and had a horrible negative attitude. Nagged at Martha's Vineyard, nagged about going to diner with Richatd & Emily, handled the April situation really crappily ( why couldn't Lor see April?)

I also did not understand him putting off the wedding but I guess that was the writers fault.

Luke would have gotten married to Lor in an instant.. I seriously think the writers botched things up in Season 6.

It was clear they were running out of ideas (*cough* April *cough*) and I'm terrible for saying this but...I understand why the Palladino's were made to leave at the end of S6.

Going to have to see if S7 is actually worse. Don't remember much of it.

I am rewatching the entire show and it has been a wonderful trip of nostalgia even if I sometimes can't help but feel that the original series is horribly outdated when you watch it now.

Season six was worse than season seven IMO. Lorelai and Rory didn't talk to each other for a third of the season. Rory got a job at the Stanford Gazette, and we never hear about it again. Unlike others, I don't hate April, but I hate how Luke mishandled the situation and the way he treated Lorelai. I don't like Paul Anka and the way Lorelai turns him into a neurotic mess. And you're right, Luke turned into a grumpy, jealous,
control freak and it was painfuL to watch him.

probably due to his high cholesterol.

The writing was terrible for Luke and Lorelai in season 6...the whole April storyline made them become different people. Luke would of never kept April from Lorelai and Lor would have firmly but nicely insisted on helping Luke out. That whole thing caused crazy drama. It all negated previous characterization.
