sorry if anybodys already poated this, but is the film anything like the book. i enjoyed reading the book a fair bit, and dont want to bother watching the film if it going to be a let down. is it worth watching?
I agree, I mean I understand that the movie could never capture the complexity of the book but man, the movie seemed to really dumb everything down. So many important parts in the book were removed, it really irked me that Elizabeth's suicide attempt was completely changed in the movie aswell as the fact that its never touched upon that Elizabeth was one of the first people to be proscribed Prozac in the 80's, even before they knew any dangers of it.
For those of who you have read the book: I'm writing a paper for English and it's been years since I read the book and since I'm a huge procrastnater (and terrible speller) I might not be able to get the book again before the paper is due, so I just have a quick question (it might be the first of many, depending on the replies I get.) My question is: when Elizabeth went to stay in the hospital (I believe she spent some time in a mental hospital) did she undergo shock treatments of any kind?
Thank you so much!
I've longed to discover something as true as this is.
