borderline personality, maybe?

I really thought she fit several of the borderline characteristics. Fear of rejection or abandonment, emotion instability, depression, problem with relationships, self-mutilation... it kinda fits.

Borderline is often comorbid with atypical depression(the kind Elizabeth has), drug abuse, promiscuity, and self-harm(such as cutting). So it definately fits, this was much more a movie about borderline and all everything which goes with it than typical depression.

Good to see somebody agrees with me. Also I think she did tend to interpret minor things as major crises, which is something else that borderline persons do. That's not to say that she's had life easy. She also reminded me very much of Winona Ryder's character on Girl Interupted.

I kinda think she was more Bipolar if anything...

She had Manic Episodes in which she would spend her days and nights typing and working on her writing entries; Also acting on whims, and commiting acts of random promiscuity...

Then she would have her Destructive Episodes shortly thereafter... Burning herself, finding the dark in everything and anything, and isolating herself from the world.

I do feel that she only used Drug Substances and Alcohol to coop with her Psychological Problems... Not Strictly Just because she was "Addicted" In the Strictest Sense.

-Although That IS debateable.
