I know I'm going to be bashed for saying but before you start calling me a dumbass, hear me out. The book is my favorite book. But, I think it was Christina Ricci's performance that made me like the movie better. I know that's not a good reason but, it's the reason I'm giving.

Also, it's a lot closer to the book than the "Girl, Interrupted" movie was.

just about every "book to screen" is going to be closer than "Girl,Interrupted", the events of that book don't even read in any chronological order.
