Ricci was superb as always

Whatever you think about the film itself, and even though Elizabeth Wurtzel comes across as a whiny, spoiled, self-centred brat, Christina Ricci's performance in Prozac Nation was just superb. I was reading a few reviews and I am glad to see she got the raves she deserved despite the film itself being so unpopular: "Ricci is by turns provocative, scary, vulnerable and fearsomely bright" (Variety)... "a powerhouse example of acting by a young woman who, just barely out of her teens, shows a greater understanding of her chosen craft than many veterans (James Berardinelli). I fully agree with them.

Agreed 110%, BiPolarPoet. She has yet to receive one Oscar nomination, not even for her stellar work in Monster. She gives one of her best and most exciting performances yet in Black Snake Moan, but like you said it's a great pity hardly anyone has seen it. Sadly, that seems to be the case with a lot of Christina's best films to date.

I agree. She's an amazing actress. I loved this movie and Black Snake Moan. I love her crying scenes in this movie. They are very well acted. I love the way she sounds when she says "I hate the things I do!" I know lol... I'm weird.
