Question about nude scenes

My cousin is staying with me for a while and he's only 11. We were thinking about renting this movie, and I noticed that it's rated R for nudity (among others). How bad is the nudity? If there's only breasts, then it might be fine (but it also depends how much the breasts are shown). If there's any genitalia shown, than I definately don't want him watching this.

I'm just wondering and any help will be appreciated.

Well, there are two sex scenes (with no nudity.) And they're pretty brief.

And the one nude scene at the beginning shows her boobs for a while. The camera moves from her back to her front. And it stays there for a minute. If you look closely you can also see the fuzz of her pubes but... yeah.

The genitalia isn't really shown unless you look at her legs. It's basically hidden by her legs. But, maybe if Christina would shave every once in a while it would be impossible to see. (it's a jungle down there. lol.)

If you can make him promise not to tell his parents that he saw Christina Ricci's tata's, then it could be okay to let him watch it.

But, it's not up to me. (I am only sixteen so I don't really know about the whole appropriate/innapropriate thing lol.)

I'm going to say no. An 11 year old doesn't need to see this movie. 11 year olds should watch stuff like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Not this.

....the main reason to keep the 11 year old cousin from watching Prozan Nation is that it's just a very good movie. Hell, even the author of the book it's based on says it's horrible.

Uh, are you trying to say it IS a good movie or that it's NOT a good movie?

This is why the youth of today eat s***ty movies up like candy these days.
This is why Michael Bay is still in business.
11 years olds should be watching *beep* like Annie Hall and Citizen Kane, Blow Up and Donnie Darko, The Life Aquatic and Rushmore, The Seventh Seal and Persona, Psycho and Vertigo, Frank Capra films.
Not Star Wars, not Indiana Jones.
Granted, each are somewhat classic in their own rights...
But children today need to be taught to think.
What better way to exercise a child's brain then to have them deconstruct the plot of Donnie Darko?
When I have children, they won't be watching any of this Spiderman *beep*
None of this super-hero BS.
I don't want my children to grow up, look back and say "why the hell did I watch this godawful crap?"
I don't have too much of that crap...
Except every time I'm reminded that I loved the Aristocats as a child, I hit myself.
True story.
I don't want my kids dealing with that.

If you want your kid to grow up to become a dumbass that loves Michael Bay films, but all means, allow him to watch Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
Personally, I wouldn't show those films until a much later age, so they have the ability to put them into perspective.
I swear, if Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom becomes my child's favorite film, it's the whip for sure.

I grew up on Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I still love Prozac Nation. I also happen to hate all the awful movies hollywod generally puts out. I think about everything. I see no reason to watch a movie without a point. I hate Michael Bay films.

Also, don't be so quick to dismiss comic books. The good ones are deep and intellectual. Read anything Frank Miller or Niel Gaiman and tell me otherwise. If you want your child to learn how to use his or her brain, let them read comics. We comic book readers are often depicted as dorky and geeky. Well so are the scientist busy making your computer, inventing your internet and providing nearly all of the technologies we have today.

i hope you never have children to inflict your tyranny unto.

it's not star wars, and indiana jones that mess them up; or even the aristocats... no, spongebob squarepants, that messes them up. pokemon, that messes them up. overstimulation is just as bad as understimulation.

This movie deals with wanton drug abuse, sexual situations, and serious mental conditions. lets also no forget toxic relationships with peer's, and parents. you wanna give the kid a pack of smokes, and a bottle of gin while you are at it, and take them to the local whorehouse to "man him up" too i assume. i accept that yes, this is the kind of movie which can exercise an adolescents mind, make them ask questions they don't even fully understand yet, and possibly even learn a thing or two from. but i think 11 is young by a few years or more for a real understanding of the themes in it, or the concepts raised. most 11 year olds will see boobies, drugs, suicide attempt, drugs, whining.

seriously though, i hope you are trolling, and not serious...
especially with comparing lucas/spielberg to michael bay drivel. ick.

besides, if my kid chose temple of doom over raiders of the lost arc, i would feel i have failed as a parent.

Don't let him see naked girlies, he will end up straight. Get him to see Bruno right away, after that lots of violence to keep from his mind off boobs.
