I have seen pictures before with Koopa at the character select screen and he was in Wario's place. Does anyone know about this? Did Wario replace Koopa?
shareOriginally he was a playable character, like in the original mario kart for the snes, but he was replaced by wario.

shareYes, Magikoopa(or Kamek) was originally a character but got swapped for Wario. Here is a video of a demo version of Mario Kart 64:
