I liked this movie the first time I saw it...

when it was called Point Break. Seriously, its the exact same plot, don't know why I'm just realizing this now. I still like them both but god damn, make one part slightly different or something. If anyone wants to write a screenplay, just pick a good movie and hit all the same beats and you're set.

I re-watched Point Break about a week or two ago, so it was fresh in my mind when I watched The Fast And The Furious today. It was pretty obvious the former was the model for the latter, but I didn't realize just how much.

For example, in Point Break Utah makes love to Lori Petty's character for the first time the night (and scene) before he raids the would be bad guy Warchild's house. Here, O'Conner makes love to Mia the night (and scene) before he raids would be bad guy Johnny Tran's place. It's like they just used white out and changed the names.

That's a good one. I need to rewatch Point Break. Found this summary and I bet there is a lot more examples.

I liked that joke the first time I heard it. Btw, Point Break ripped off No Mans Land (1987).
