This almost feels like it was made for TV or straight to DVD
I don't know how to properly explain other than the previous two Crocodile Dundee movies from the '80s felt more "epic" in their scope. The first one functioned as kind of an travelogue to the Australian outback as well as a cute fish out of water tale when Mick Dundee gets to New York City. The second one rose the stakes by having Mick take on a gang of Columbian drug-dealers, so it was decidedly more suspenseful and action-oriented.
The first two also while having their funny moments (mainly from a naïve Aussie redneck in Mick Dundee trying to understand American culture) they were still pretty dark and semi-serious and made mostly for adults. It isn't that they couldn't be enjoyed by kids, but the first two movies still featured stuff like cocaine abuse, transvestites, and prostitution.
