September 11th

It is difficult to disagree with many of the negative comments already posted about this film. However, I went to see it on Friday 14th September 2001 – three days after the September 11th attacks and when the decent world was still in shock. It was exactly what we needed at the time. We didn’t want to see the same old mindless 5hite with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rocky, Bruce Willis or GI Joe. Where were these guys when they were needed 3 days earlier?

Were you the only one in the theater? LOL

The way I look at it, it's not the event itself, yes, the day was tragic, it's what it made us realize; the things we needed to change. People always remember the events that affected them the most. I personally couldn't care where anyone was when JFK was shot, does that mean it wasn't an important event? No, or how about the flood that destroyed many homes in my local area, granted, it's not a Tsunami, Hurricane, or Earthquake, and I'm not trying to trivialize the, but it was a big deal to the people who lost their homes/loved ones. September 11th is important to me because so many innocent people died, but also because of the FDNY men who went into the towers to save people and were killed. I can appreciate that you're not an American and it doesn't directly affect you, much the same as the flood in Alstead, NH didn't affect people in Massachusetts, but at least give us the damn respect that I give you!

Man I wish I had seen this post right after this worthless piece of sh*t posted it. I'm sure he doesn't bother to come back and check on the thread, because when you have 420 in your screen name, I highly doubt you have the balls to face you're own stupidity. I should cut him some slack; it is not uncommon for the offspring of two people who were brother and sister to have this kind of an attitude.

reply

Wasa, don't let that fool rattle you, I was annoyed too, but just moved on. However I hope he gets karma that coming his way big time!

September 11th should've been the topic for the original whcih WAS set in New York...

what does this film even have to do with any terrorist attack?

Oh no, right, NOTHING, you're all just proving that 420 guy right by proving that a LOT of US citizens will use literally ANY excuse possible to bring up 9/11 as if it's the worst thing ever and is somehow sacrosanct.

More Sub-Saharan Africans die of AIDS each day, than the total number of US citizens since 9/11. TOTAL.

It's not. a. big. deal.

INB4 Butthurt amerikunns BAWWWWing/ pretentious S.O.B's saying "fallacy x" etc.

They called me Mr. Glass :'(

Also we got remembered of 9/11 so often (efen the non 'muricans like me) that I really don't understand it anymore: there have been literally 100x bigger disasters since then, does the world always say "remember the Tsunami that killed 230.000 (!!!) Ppl on christmas 2004 ?

reply

Uh, I'm an American I don't recall anybody talking about 9/11 like that at all. Seriously, it seems as if as though nobody here really talks about it anymore...

You and mattinthehouse1 both seem like the typical uninformed, stupid people outside of the USA who think you know anything and everything about Americans and what we all believe.

Tell me something, rollora, why don't you get out more and educate yourself for a change?

In Australia and USA this movie came in April 2001. I'm from Finland, I remember September 11th and I wasnt panic, when that happened. America is different continent, than Europe. Maybe soft people cried even here in Europe.

Brits thought war was breaking out, but we obviously had to keep working, someone brought a TV in to our office so we could watch the news people speculate a lot of utter crap "At this time of day each tower will hold 50,000 people!".

It was a bit annoying when the dude took his TV back on around the 16th, we had gotten used to watching obscure daytime telly in the days after 9/11.

Ya Kirk-loving Spocksucker!

reply

The DECENT world was also in shock at all the earlier actions of the USA abroad that played a big part in these attacks ;)
