^^This. Jeff killed her somehow when he was possessed by the BlairWitch, I'm guessing that he probably strangled her, she looked like she was strangled when he found her body later in the closet. OP, watch out with the spoiler in the topic heading.

I always thought she wasn't killed... that she had shed her mortal coil to communicate with Elly Kedward. Like she said.
