INTO THE WILD for BEST PICTURE 2008

No way does it live up to On the Waterfront. His part was pretty small in this movie, but its good to see him act anyway.

reply

uhh it wasnt his last movie...............

Last time I checked, it was his last movie. Did he come back from the dead or something?

reply

Pretty sure his last movie, which one did you think came after this one?

reply

It was his last movie.

He appeared in a Michael Jackson music video after this, that's it.

He filmed "The Score" in the summer of 2000. It was released in the summer of 2001.

He filmed the Jackson video, "You Rock My World", in mid-01, and it was out in the fall of 2001. His last big public appearence was at a Jackson tribute concert in NYC, on September 10, 2001, the night before 9/11.

After that, he became quite reclusive again.

The Wayans Bros had approached him in the spring of 01 to appear in "Scary Movie 2",and he agreed, but he wound up not doing it supposedly because he was ill at the time. They replaced him with James Woods. (Thank God, I would NOT have wanted THAT to be Brando's last movie!!!)

He finished a book he was working on, published after his death.

He originally was working on a project called "Brando and Brando", in which he would play a version of himself, shortly before his death in 2004. He also lent his voice to an animated film called, "Big Bug Man", which seems to have vanished off the face of the earth.

He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in early 2003, and died on July 1,2004.

"Brando and Brando" was retitled and reworked as "Citizen Brando", which has yet to be released, and was made after his death. I don't know what ever happened to the cartoon. And some footage of him from circa late 70s "Superman" shoot was reworked into "Superman Lives" in 2006.

But, yes, the last completed feature film that he acted on screen in was, indeed, "The Score".

Yeah, I was looking at the FAQ's, and it says he 'refused to smile' in the last scene, so they had to make him smile via CGI. anybody know whats up with that?

The Score really had a troubled shoot with Brando. Apparently, he just turned up and did everything his own way regardless of what he was told. He just didn't get along with the director at all.

Part of me suspects it was the director's last laugh at Brando; finally getting him to do something without hassle and all that.

"He finished a book he was working on, published after his death. "

what book was that?

the truth is we can't all be stars, but I'll be god damned if I'll settle for bronze

reply

'Fan-tan'. He co-wrote it with Donald Cammell. I have it in hardback, but haven't gotten round to reading it yet. Should be good though.

brando's last movie was the short film "You Rock My World". the short film was trimmed down to a shorter music-video for MTV. so yes, "The Score" wasn't his last movie.. shortfilms are also movies, no matter how you see it.

This was Marlon Brando's last film feature. But this is definitely not his best film.Nevertheless,he was a great scene stealer.
