DeNiro as director?

Can anyone tell me why DeNiro has a directing credit for this movie?

reply

Brando would refuse to come to the set when when Oz was there, so DeNiro had to step in and direct.

Because Brando is a nut.

Well,Marlon Brando did not get along well with Frank Oz that is why Robert De Niro had to come in to direct Brando's scenes.

reply

That's not completely correct. Oz would talk to De Niro in an earpiece, and De Niro then would pass on the direction to Brando. Agreed though, Brando seemed to be difficult- which no doubt can affect films. There's people I work with that I hate. But sometimes you have to put your differences aside to get the job done.
