Revenge?

So De Niro screws him over. But Norton knows where he lives and where he works. Doesn't that set him up for an easy revenge mission?

Not really, Jack would have gone down too if he wanted to take down Nick.
Danny the janitor has identified him as the inside man. Nick closed up his workshop, got rid of any other evidence. And his jazz club was his cover story.
Max would have laid low in Bermuda if he needed to.

But surely when the police caught up with Jackie, they would find he had nothing on him (except an iron bar!!) So they might do him for breaking and entering, but not theft!!!

reply

They can get him for conspiracy... which has the same sentence as actually committing the crime.

If you think this is part of my post you are mistaken, for it is really my signature.

reply

OK, but he could give them Nick's mobile number, which they could trace using masts, and they could catch Nick that way (unless he dropped the phone into the river...)

I got an idea...

Only the Janitor knows it's Jack for certain, so Jack could go back to work and quit for feeling harassed because the Janitor had no proof.
The only problem with that would be tapes of other areas in the building that show Jack running and changing and so forth.

So he mre than likely goes to jail...

Can anyone say prison break? Or even work done from the inside?
Remember that Jack is still a quality con artist.

How would he know where to find Nick though? And how would he get to him?

While Nick may be harder to track, his girl Diane wouldn't be.
That would obviously get Nick's attention too.
He'd just have to figure out a way to get the info. on the both of them, which he is fully capable of.
After all, he's Tyler Durden.

Great movie nonetheless (I dislike IMDB's rating system).

By the time the police picked up Danny (probably days later at best) Jack would have been long gone. He sold the piece so it's no longer with him & he's already left the country.

I was glad to see Danny get taken down a notch after his sourpuss bit while they were in the basement. He was whining and bellyaching "You should have made me a partner", and "I set this score up"...

Revenge is sweet...

When you say "Danny", you mean "Jack".
When you say "Jack", you mean "Nick".

reply

By the time the police picked up Danny
You don't know Jack ;)

reply

Except that Jack had to flee Canada immediately.
And it's unlikely he has enough pull in the criminal world (or money) to order a hit or something.

comment for nick z.

You're forgetting that Nick got the $6 million for The Score and was able to "retire" Even though Diane was pissed at him, they seemed to have made up. In the end, she moves to Montreal, quits her job and they lived happily ever after.

What do you mean De Niro screws him over?

Norton F**CKS De Niro over. If he had just stuck to the plan he would have got his cut. De Niro having the fake scepter in the bag was just a way of protecting himself. But it would only come into play if Norton screwed him, which he did.

De Niro was a consumate professional, and even though he held a great deal of disdain for Norton and the way he did things, he NEVER would have screwed him out of his share.

Norton screwed himself.

No, Jack's photo is all over the news and the cops are looking for him. He's now lost whatever contacts he has and has no money to show for it, plus he's a wanted man who has to hide. He's going to be focused on survival. He only has himself to blame, if he had just done his part he would have been paid. If he was unhappy about the upfront arrangement, he could have asked for more money and gotten it because without him no way would they have been able to do the job. It just shows that Jack while very good at the things he did was still inexperienced.
