Mental how someone can direct Halloween II (1981), considered by many to be the second best in the franchise then 21 years later direct this film, which many consider the worst in the franchise. Talk about a fall from grace.

Well tbf John Carpenter and Debra Hill wrote Halloween 2 1981, and some nobodies wrote Halloween Resurrection, James Cameron could've directed this and it would've still sucked with that script. I blame the writers and the script more than Rick Rosenthal.
