bummed that this will likely remain the end of it

The end of the original cycle. Let's not count #3, of course. And I know the Laurie and Jamie stories keep a healthy distance from each other. There's really nothing completely stopping them from going together, the closest we have is the throwaway line at the beginning of H20 about how Michael's been missing for twenty years. I prefer to think that, disregarding #3, they all run together up until this point.

Then we have the Zombies, and now the new one. There had been chatter/hope over the years of a direct sequel to this. Granted, this one alone was horrible, but it leaves room. Michael still has blood relatives out there to find and kill. But this was so universally despised. And Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken out against these movies, which leaves a bad taste (though they wouldn't need her at least). But it would almost require leaving Haddonfield, which in the series has happened rarely, to varying affect. Just wish they'd continue and wrap this up, sucks that the original continuity ends this way. But I doubt they ever will, considering it's now been buried under new timelines, and it backed itself into a corner. Guess that's why you shouldn't end ones like this on a cliffhanger.

IDK, I think this could be built upon, by someone with an absolute love for this franchise. Maybe JC could, but I doubt he would want to. This one is the most awful in every way, BUT, it establishes some kind of connection.
