Right after Michael kills Laurie, he gives the guy in the clown mask the big bloody knife and walks out, leaving the door to the clown guy's room open. It drives my mind wild wondering what happened next. Did the guy just escape or did he go on a bloody rampage, ala Michael?

The guy was a walking serial killer encyclopedia already institutionalized. Wouldn't be that much of a stretch he killed a "celebrity" survivor. I doubt he escaped. He wasn't able to when he was out of his room the first time, in the basement. He probably couldn't function in the real world. Especially on the run. He also seemed like he liked it there, the people and didn't want to leave, otherwise he would have.

My question - haven't checked all the threads on here - was when Harold said Michael killed 4 students from Hillcrest Academy in 1998 right as Michael walked away.
4? I know he killed the one couple, Charlie and Sarah and Laurie's companion Will. Laurie's son John and his girlfriend Molly ended up surviving that night. Are they implying that John and Molly ended up getting killed afterwards, hence why Laurie's son, John, was not in this sequel?
It was a condensed, botched version of the body count. Remember too he said 3 nurses and a paramedic same night for Halloween II. Nuh uh, he killed Alice, who was a stranger, a doctor and a security guard as well. The 4 refers to the 2 kids in Illinois at Marion's house and the 2 at Hillcrest, Sarah and Charlie. Trivia note : Michael has killed a Charlie in part 5, H20 and Resurrection. Must really hate that name. And almost ever film he kills someone with the letter B in their name. Bob, Budd, Brady, Bucky, etc. It's interesting...

Anyone can easily figure Michael came to kill Laurie. They knew he was not dead after she killed that man. He broke down her door. The way she laying out on her back after being stabbed. Would they really believe Harold did all of that? He is a fat average guy he just obsessed with killers murder history.

In Resurrection, it bought Michael enough time to go home, the last place anyone would think to look for him. Which obviously Dangertainment didn't. To prove it you have to find him, which they've had trouble doing the last 20+ years.

If you can find them, the comics are a nice read. Nightdance, the Halloween trilogy from Chaos, I think, or Devil's Due are good as well, although Halloween III conformed to the H20 ending which was disappointing.
The map in H20 was there for a reason, to show Michael did get around after II. It was a nice touch.

No. The comics never visited the "other" Halloween III. This was a separate story, a trilogy, Halloween, Halloween II and Halloween III released by Chaos comics here...

My feeling was that Michael thought his work was done and handing off the knife was a passing of the baton. My work is done, now you can go to town.
shareI don't think Michael would care enough about it to frame someone else for the murders. Seriously I think he saw the guy in cell when he walked by and realized he idolized Michael. His work there was done, and the guy was harmless, so why not give him a priceless piece of memorabilia.
