I liked Dracula being Judas. It does explain why he can't stand seeing the cross and why he doesn't drink whine.

I can think of worse punishments than being a vampire though.

I think the punishment was that he was now doing more stuff that goes against his Jewish religion by being turned into a vampire.

You are right. I didn't want to bring it up but while I like the twist I am a Christian and don't like God putting that kind of evil on humanity.

I also was impressed and thought it was a novel idea.

It's been quite a while since I last saw this film, but I really loved it when I was younger and thought it was highly underrated.

It's actually one of the very few movies that I saw twice in the theater.

I haven't seen it and perhaps never will, but the idea is mildly interesting. A variation on The Wandering Jew or Cain.

I remember liking this movie when it came out. I've caught snippets over the years and know it's not great, but that twist was creative as hell. What a great idea.
