So glad TBS is showing this film now

One of my all-time favorite films, that I can watch over & over. (Didn't Nick Cage get nominated for an Oscar for this? If not, he should have.) Okay, I just noticed something. At the end, when the angel put Jack back into his current life, he immediately drives to what I would think is his old house, to see if Kate and the kids are there. But he encounters a stranger living there (played by Robt Downey Jr.'s dad, by the way). Now the house he pulled up in front of is NOT the same one his pal walks him to at the beginning of the story, describing it as a 4-BR/2-1/2 BA home. It's a brick house whereas the first one was a white colonial-type. Right?? Not that little inconsistencies like that ruin a movie - they're often unavoidable - but this stuck out for me on my latest viewing.

Again, great movie, great story.

His friend (Jeremy Piven) is walking him to his house via the backyard, so what you're seeing is the back of the house in that scene. It's the assumption that Jeremy either lives behind him, or next door and they they cut through Jeremy's backyard to his.
