Don't look too deep into the storyline, it may make you angry!

Streaming this right now and as the film goes on it could easily make you angry depending on your mindset as a person. What the writers full intentions were no one knows, this could be a Flick about brainwashing people into wanting a family or it could just be one of those movies about "how a person's life would have been if....."

If this movie is trying to say that you're not complete without a family, then they're wrong because family is not for everyone and that's OK. As a happily single Christian person i see that it's okay to not want a family and it's okay to want a family, there is no right or wrong in that. It's even a Godly thing for people not to get married and have kids, it even says it in the Bible when Paul says "it's better for a man not to marry", Paul couldn't have done all the great work for God if he was stuck married with kids.

Bottom line don't listen to the secular world that you have to have a family to be happy, that isn't true at all, it's true for some people, but not for everyone, this Flick is a bit biased.

it is a family Christmas movie, so it wouldn't make sense for it to be about finding fulfillment in other lifestyle choices.

i don't think it's trying to say that the only thing worth doing is having a family, it's just telling a story about a guy who made a choice and what life would have been like had he chosen to stay with the girl - a "glimpse".

his values were misplaced before he was given the glimpse. afterwards, he realized that having her love and a family together was a far greater thing than wealth that he lived for.

also, he is later given a second chance to be with her, because he passed the "test" (perhaps if he had proceeded with the affair, or done some other thing inconsistent with their relationship, he would have had his life back and no second chance).
