Name of the new town?

What was the name of the new town? It had a Spanish name, but I can't remember what it was. Is it a real place?

Lisboa. Lisbon. It's not Spanish, it's Portuguese.

But the founder of the town, Lucia (Milla Jovovich), isn't a lesbian; so it doesn't make sense.

It was called Lisboa but I don't think it really existed, neither did Kingdom Come. At least there's no solid info I found online, I was wondering if the movie was loosely based on real facts or not.

That was the main reason I was checking out the posts for this movie on IMDB, to see if anyone had info regarding these towns.

I was curious if "Lisboa" was based on a real city and how it fared into the future based upon it's promising start at the end of the movie.

What it's based on is "The Mayor of Casterbridge," by Thomas Hardy, which is set in southwest England in the 19th century.

Lisboa is the Portuguese name for their capital, which we call Lisbon.
