This version 'grows' on you!!

To be honest, I didn't care too much for this version of one of my favorite stories.
But this film improves on second and third viewings, in my opinion. Patrick Stewart portrayed the curmudgeon with great skill.

At first, I thought the part where he laughs on the bed was too overdone. But since this IS supposed to be someone who has not laughed in years (literally), I now see it was done very well. He is surprised and giddy over the sound of his own laughter. It was totally foreign to him.

Great version!! And Tiny Tim was portrayed more realistically as well. You saw how poor yet how deeply loving the family was, with or without money. The scenes with Ebenezer and Tiny Tim were classic here.
