shareI don't think women of that period looked like 1990s-2000s strippers. In fact women sported pubic hair in many men's magazines as late as the early 1990s. The fact that many young women do it now doesn't make it accurate or appropriate for a period piece, (or even now).

Well that's arguable (and I'm not sure anyone has ever done a scientific survey! LOL!!!) But I remember back in the day. Many 'strippers' would shave because of the strict rules of Ordinance inspectors, primarily Alcoholic beverages enforcement. Even a 'glimpse' of pubic hair in a 'non-nude' club (aka topless or bikini) was enough to shut it down. So many strippers would shave so that they could 'hike up' their G-strings so much that you could practically see 'everything' and as long as they did not show the actual 'equipment' nor any hair, they were in compliance. I am sure in places that did not have a 'club' that had to deal with strict regulations on nudity, the 'prostitutes' would have done something similar.
I do note that Japan for YEARS had some sort of 'taboo' of seeing pubic hair and would optically censor private parts just for that reason. Weird.

I suspect you'll have a hard time finding the unrated version at just any video store. Once Disney acquires the North American distribution rights to a movie, sources for alternate non-Disney versions tend to dry up. The only unrated version playable on Region 1 DVD players that I know of is actually a Korean release. If you can't find it at your local video store, you might try video stores in the asian part of town, assuming you live where there is an asian part of town.
