How to balance historically valid portrayals of childhood sexuallity and US child porn laws will forever be difficult. While child exploitation is abhorent and clearly illegal, such scenes as Renato and Lupetta make one wonder if some explicit motion picture depicitions of childhood sexuality are valid.

Wanting to see first hand the moviemakers' artistic vision for their film free of censorship is the reason why people want to see the uncut version of the movie. The director didn't keep this part of the movie in for an arbitrary reason; nor do any filmviewers wish to see a boy's penis for the sake of seeing a penis, they look instead for the meaning behind seeing it in the firstplace. Don't be so immature.
The reality is pedophiles WILL seek out this film to look at a boy's penis and to get off on the depiction of sexual acts between a 12 year old boy and an adult. It's defined as VOYEURISM AND KIDDIE PORN. That fact trumps the "artistic vision" of a sleazy director.
The idea that directors would not put sexual content into a film for "arbitrary reasons", or that filmviewers would not wish to see a boy's penis for the sake of seeing a boy's penis--but are instead merely looking for "the meaning" behind seeing the film in the first place--IS LUDICROUS.

I believe any art should be presented as the artist intended. It's up to the individual to decide if they want to see it. I don't believe any art should be censored because a very small percentage of the population is afraid it will give an even smaller percentage of the population a boner.
shareI've seen the unrated and I don't get why people are making a big deal of it.. yes you see the penis pop out but it's not a close up and you have longer shots of Monica going over the boy kissing his body.. Nothing to really cry about here.
