Perhaps the best written film Christopher Nolan has done.
This is probably his best movie in terms of writing but as an actual film, I would give it either to Inception or The Dark Knight.
This movie feels like the real beginning of Nolan than The Following and shows such great promise and energy behind the camera. The end twist to this movie resonates with you long after it's over as well as Guy Pearce's performance. Dude was terrific here. It was also cool to see some of the same actors from Batman Begins in this one as minor characters showing the loyalty Nolan had at the time. They believed in him. I personally think all of his movies are good to great. The only one I think he could've worked a bit harder on is The Dark Knight Rises with more rewrites but besides that, it's still better than a lot of stuff that comes out today. Nolan is one of my favorite directors.
You guys should see the marathon I did for Memento titled When Things Aren't What They Seem. You can check it out here on my blog.
